Breckinridge is blessed to have a large area of land in a very quiet neighborhood, but the nice green landscaping is looking a little different these days. In late February, we started seeing the construction vehicles roll in and start moving dirt behind the school to make level ground for our temporary learning cottages.
In March, the learning cottages started to roll in (one side at a time) and slowly we recieved approximately 10 learning cottages and two sets of bathrooms. By the end of May, the cottages were put together and a deck/walkway connecting them was being built. It has been a long process to get the learning cottages prepared for our Breckinridge Bears to move out of the building we've loved for years.
You won't notice many signs of actual construction from the front of the building, at least until December. The first phase of renovation is on the back portion of the building which houses 16 classrooms and was added on to the school in 1970. Phase one is scheduled to take 6 months and be complete at the end of December. Below are some signs of the construction that is happening on the back portion of the building.

Official construction sign placed in the front school yard. |

Lots of dirt and signs of things changing in the back classrooms. |

The first bricks have been taken down outside of the connection between the original 1963 building and the 1970 addition. |
