Phase One consists of renovation on the back portion of the building, which originally contained 16 classrooms (8 upstairs and 8 downstairs), the teacher's workroom, and 2 restrooms. The classrooms, which had a temorary dividing wall, lots of counter and cabinet space, and a sink room between them, are now large empty spaces.
This past year, these classrooms housed one Kindergarten class, 3 first grade classes, and all of our 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. Due to the start of Phase One, all but 3 classrooms across the whole school had to pack up and move before the summer started. This fall, all Kindergarten and 1st grade classes will be in the front hallway and all 2nd grade classes will be in the second hallway, while 3rd-5th grade will be located in the learning cottages. Below are a few pictures of what the inside of Phase One looks like this week.

A view from the stairs that lead to the back portion of the building. Two bathrooms and the teacher's workroom are on the left and 16 classrooms beyond the wood door. |

The teacher's workroom as of 7.20.11. They've opened the roof and the sun is shining bright. Hope it doesn't rain! |

Classrooms have been cleared out. |

This is a view from inside what used to be two classrooms. All shelves, cabinets, and the sink area have disappeared. |

Worker jackhammering in the downstairs hallway. |

View from walking up the stairs. Notice the tall ceilings since the ceiling tiles have been taken out. |

This shows what used to be 2 classrooms and the piping from their sink room. The temporary wall will be removed soon. |
